· Ensure the success of the schools Specialist School Programme through achieving The Chaucer Technology school objectives (details of the specific objectives are included in the Faculty Handbook).

· Promote the activities and achievements of History within the school and the wider community.

· Employ teaching methods and resources that allow all students (irrespective of their gender, ethnic origin, academic ability, etc.) to have equal access to History, ICT and the facilities provided by the School library, and to experience success and enjoyment in their learning. It is our aim to provide a wide range of options to students as they pursue their studies through KS3-5.

OptionsAt the end of year 8, students can choose from two GCSE options, either Edexcel Modern World or AQA Schools History Project American West and Medicine through Time.

At AS and A level, students study a mixture of British and European History covering Britain in 1815-53; Germany 1919-63; Elizabeth I and Russia 1857 to 1963.
