Am I suitable for this course?

GCSE Dance is not necessary, though it would be an asset.  What is essential is an active interest in performing, creating and viewing dance.

How is it assessed?

During the first year, there will be a practical examination, coursework and a written examination on understanding dance.  In the second year, a written examination makes up one third of the assessment; the rest is a practical examination.

Why is this qualification useful?

Dance provides a broad and balanced background suitable for entry into higher education and employment in the arts field.
